Philpott Fleet
began operations in June of 1996 when Bobby Swan and our staff of five
fleet specialists joined Philpott Ford in Port Neches, Texas. Driven
by the idea that studying the needs of our customers was the key to
providing them with the personal service they deserve, we opened in a
one-room office with a table, two phones, and a willingness to learn.
The reception from the purchasing community was enthusiastic from the
start. Within a year, our customers had taught us a thing or two, our
staff had doubled, and business began to snowball. In year two, we
surpassed one thousand units sold and never looked back.
Since then, we’ve learned a little more about volume and
a lot more about the needs of our customers. Today, we can assist you
with specifications and bid preparation so that you can easily determine
your vehicle requirements and budget figures. We hold several
cooperative-purchasing contracts so that you can buy quickly and
efficiently. We stock hundreds of fleet vehicles so that your vehicle
is often only days away. We accept trades regardless of condition and
can assist with municipal financing to help stretch your budget dollar.
If you need any extras, we can help. We have a huge
inventory of emergency equipment and accessories so that you can
purchase everything with a single order. Our experienced service
technicians can provide partially equipped or turnkey vehicles right out
of our shop so that your cars get on the road faster. If you like, we
can even deliver to your door.
What we’ve learned seems to be working. Since 1996,
we’ve provided over 55,000 vehicles to more than 2800 government and
commercial customers across the country. Today, we have a 25,000 square
foot service facility with 14 dedicated fleet technicians. Our total
staff has grown to 40 employees. With sales of over 8000 vehicles last
year, we are the largest Ford government sales dealer in the United
States.
We’re proud of our numbers, but we know that they’re just part of the
story. In keeping with our original idea, we don’t just build our
customer base…we build relationships. Whether for one vehicle or one
hundred, purchasing agents, fleet managers, and business owners return
to us year after year. We know that all of our success wouldn’t have
been possible without their comments, suggestions, and support. So to
